We recently launched the new and improved Spectoos 2.0! Now, there are more and better ways to share your testimonials online. 

We made a lot of changes that we’re very excited to share with you.

  • The new Dashboard gives you an in-depth look at how all of your testimonials and widgets are performing.
  • As for your Testimonials, we’re giving you more control than ever before to publish, hide, edit, delete, filter, and add testimonials manually.
  • Our new Widgets allow you to manage and display your testimonials in more unique and interesting ways.
  • Leads help you gain new customers directly from your testimonials.
  • Pages offer you an option for displaying your testimonials and another for garnering new testimonials.
  • Lastly, our new Tags feature allows you to create automatic workflows for your testimonials.

Let’s take an in-depth look at all of these incredible new features together!


You’ve always had a Dashboard with Spectoos, but now with 2.0, it’s better than ever. It provides you with a detailed look at how your testimonials and widgets are performing as well as a basic overview of everything you need to know. 

Some of the key features you’ll enjoy include:

  • The ability to choose a date range and widget. Just like in Google Analytics, you can now view your performance by date and widget. This means you can get as detailed as possible when it comes to your performance metrics. It’s ideal for seeing how your testimonials perform during specific marketing campaigns.
  • Results by key metric: View your testimonial performance based on the metrics that matter most to you and your team. You can see results for views clicks, CTR (if you have a CTA in the widget), and number of leads.
  • Testimonial overview: Never wonder again how specific testimonials are helping you out. You can break down your testimonials by newest, most-clicked, or most-viewed profile.

This is where you can manage all of your testimonials as they come in. You can see both active and pending testimonials and filter your testimonials by widget, tag, visibility, or date range. It’s an all-in-one testimonial workflow for whatever you need.


How it works. 

When customers fill out a testimonial form, it’s automatically sent to your testimonials inbox and goes under “pending”. You then get an email notification so you can go in and approve it for publishing. You can also decide to hide the testimonial, edit it, or delete it. It’s completely in your hands.

You can also add new testimonials manually! This is perfect for testimonials that are already online on another platform, but you want to be able to pull them into Spectoos. Our widgets accept testimonials from:

Multiple Widgets

Our Widgets tab is where you can see all the widgets you already have, and where you can add, edit, and delete them as needed. Please note that there are a few default widgets that come with the system and these cannot be deleted. 

Widgets make it easy to support many testimonial categories, which is very powerful if you have a lot of different products or services.


Adding a new Widget is easy. Simply, click on “Add Widget” and then start creating. 

First, select a widget type: Faceboard, Masonry, Testimonial List, or Request Form. Then, give your widget a name that you’ll remember.


Next, you’ll want to create tags for your widget (we’ll be talking about tags a little later).


Next, set the widget properties such as its title, text color, font, width, and more.

You can set additional parameters for your widget such as lead capturing. If you’d like it to generate leads, you’ll need to click “Enabled” and then fill out the “Lead form input settings.” This is where you control what information is required such as company, message, phone, email, name, etc.



Testimonials are great, but getting leads from your testimonials is even better. On your Leads tab, you can see all of the leads you’ve gathered through the Spectoos platform. You can export your leads to a CSV file that you can then easily upload to your CRM system.


There are two types of Pages Spectoos offers that you can choose from:

  • Minisite 
  • Testimonial Request Form



The Minisite is automatically generated by Spectoos and shows your list of testimonials. This page is already SEO optimized with your business address, phone number, and website address, so you can use this even if you don’t have a website. 

For one of our clients, KeyScouts, the Minisite shows up on Google even before their own Facebook page when customers look for reviews.

Testimonial Request Form Page

The second page option is our Testimonial Request Form Page, where you can get customer testimonials that go directly into your account. You can share a link for this page via any online channel, including email, WhatsApp, SMS, social media, blog, etc.

Our new Tags enable the creation of automatic workflows for testimonials. Basically, using a tag, you can make your widgets display specific testimonials based on categories. For example, you can create a widget that shows testimonials only about a specific product or service. Think of it as an automatic workflow that lets you publish specific testimonials on relevant pages.

And it’s incredibly simple to set up in just five steps.

Step 1: Create a new Widget request form.

Step 2: Create a new Widget for displaying the testimonials you’ll gather via the new request form.

Step 3: Create a new Tag.



Step 4: By default, the new request form is linked to the “All” Tag. Keep this Tag, but also link the new Tag to the request form. 

Step 5: Link the Tag to the new widget.


Viola! You’re done.

At any point in time, you can assign tags to your different testimonials so that they automatically appear in the relevant widget. 


The Settings tab is where you go to manage your profile, upload a logo, choose your font, language, and more. It’s also where you can:

  • Change your password.
  • Access your account information.
  • Gain insight into your billing and plan options.


Installing Spectoos 2.0 is easy. You can embed widgets on your website and other online assets in just a few simple steps. And once it’s installed, that’s it. Every time you make a change within Spectoos, the widgets are automatically updated everywhere they’ve been installed. There’s no need to embed again.

There are multiple options for installation.

Install Yourself

You can install Spectoos 2.0 on your website yourself via embed code or iframe. In both cases, you’ll need to understand HTML, so we recommend installation be performed by an IT professional.

Email to Developer

If all of that sounds too complicated for you, simply email the Spectoos widget to your developer and let them take care of it. We have a simple form that only requires you to enter your developer’s email to send it:
